Der Gelbohrsittich: Eine Erfolgsgeschichte des Artenschutzes
Gut 20 Jahre besteht das Projekt zur Rettung des Gelbohrsittichs (Ognorhynchus
icterotis), der im Jahr 1995 als verschollen galt. Das Ende dieser Art schien unvermeidlich, doch gezielte Schutzmaßnahmen haben dazu geführt, dass der Bestand sich deutlich erholt hat. Die Geschichte des Gelbohrsittichs zeigt sehr eindrucksvoll, wie verschiedene ineinandergreifende Maßnahmen eine Art vor der Ausrottung bewahren können.
