Fruits, Vegetables & Nuts
Superfoods for parrots, parakeets, other fancy fowl and poultry.
This reference book helps bird keepers and bird breeders with diet planning and practical feeding. Which variety is suitable for which species? How and why should the respective variety be used in feeding.
The suitability of various vegetable and fruit varieties, including both classics and trend varieties, is safely and newly determined. An extra chapter looks at nuts.
The suitability of species is determined for parrots and parakeets (specially designated: budgies and large parrots) as well as for canaries, estrildid finches, woodland birds, finches, soft feeders and fancy fowl.
The explanations on the mode of action are particularly valuable. For example, there are varieties that promote calming, strengthen the immune system or support the gastrointestinal tract. But attention is also drawn to risky varieties with dangerous ingredients or high sugar content. Even supportive fresh food for young birds (rearing) and during moulting is considered.
Tips for practical preparation as well as storage and preservation of the fresh food are included in each variety portrait. A detailed, comprehensive nutrient table with all varieties (minerals, vitamins ...) rounds off the reference book.
